54 SCHOOL BUS FLEET OCTOBER 2019 WWW SCHOOLBUSFLEET COM REV Group the parent company of Type A school bus builder Collins Bus Corp has added two new members to its commercial segment team BRIAN PERRY and DANIEL BLATT Perry joins the company as president of commercial segment overseeing several brands including Collins ENC and Champion Bus His organizational experience spans from public multi national corporations to small and mid sized privately held companies across both military and commercial markets Perry most recently was senior vice president of operations for L3Harris Technologies Inc and senior vice president of operations for Gleason Corp Meanwhile Blatt joins REV Group as vice president and general manager of the manufacturers Imlay City facility in Michigan which produces Champion Bus and Federal Coach vehicles He reports to Perry Blatt has over 30 years experience in operations and profit and loss management in manufacturing and industrial environments Prior to REV Group Blatt served as vice president and general manager of MacLean Power Systems in South Carolina a manufacturer of electric utility communication and civil infrastructure products TIM KERR has joined heavy duty vehicle lift supplier Stertil Koni as product manager In this new role Kerr will be working on a range of initiatives including the suppliers new product concepts advancing customer satisfaction and training Stertil Konis North American distributor network Tim brings a unique combination of technical experience and customer service depth to this new position at Stertil Koni said PETER BOWERS the suppliers technical sales manager He also will be assisting with product development and building digital pathways for feedback Kerr has experience with complex electro mechanical systems from concept and design to installation and commissioning of industrial equipment He also has expertise in after sales support on site training and system enhancements Heavy duty electric transportation supplier Proterra has named MIKE BOGGESS as its vice president of controls electrical and thermal systems There Boggess will lead the suppliers technology roadmap and program launch efforts for a variety of projects including vehicle range modeling depot charging simulation and electrical and thermal efficiency Most recently Boggess served as chief engineer for drivetrain electrical and chassis at Blue Bird and led the launch of the OEMs electric school bus He also held engineering positions at Fiat Chrysler Chrysler Group and General Motors Blatt Perry Kerr Help us spread the word about school bus industry personnel appointments retirements awards and passings Email announcements to info@ schoolbusfleet com SHARE YOUR PEOPLE NEWS HEIDI KING the acting administrator for the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration NHTSA stepped down on Aug 31 She is succeeded by JAMES OWENS the regulatory agencys deputy general counsel As SBF previously reported King was chosen by PRESIDENT TRUMP to lead the NHTSA in April 2018 after more than a year passed without a top official heading up the agency King was already holding a leadership position at NHTSA having served as deputy administrator since September 2017 King had also served as chief economist for the House Committee on Energy and Commerce and as a regulatory policy analyst in the White Houses Office of Management and Budget from 1998 to 2000 and from 2007 to 2011 Through those positions she became familiar with NHTSA and its work on Corporate Average Fuel Economy according to her official NHTSA bio King PEOPLE Boggess Owens
